July 2010 Newsletter

 Dear Parents,

July brings a month of fun for your child at Building Blocks. The first week of July, we have received 36 boxes of school materials from Lakeshore and Kaplan. We opened those with our kids and Ms Teresa, the Collaborative for Children consultant. We are grateful that our kids will have more opportunity to explore and learn, and have fun.

The children are having a great time during splash time. Please remember to put your child’s initials on the clothes they wear on Splash day.

July turns our thoughts to Independence Day. We are all glad for our freedom in this country and are aware of the cost our forefathers had to pay for it. We celebrated the Fourth of July with our families with picnics, parades, and fireworks.

Building Blocks will be closed on the 5th of July so our teachers can enjoy their families.

The curriculum for July is:

*Fourth of July! *Our Solar System *Community Helpers *glad to be Me *Nutrition

The Building Blocks Family would like to thank you again for allowing us to play such an important part in your child’s development. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please let us know in the office and we will talk to the best of our abilities.

Collaborative for Children help us to get training for teachers and administrators, scholarships for local early childhood conferences, scholarships for early childhood college coursework, CDA training and CDA assessment, classroom equipment and material grants, and a supportive network for early childhood administrators. With this project, we voluntarily try to enhance the quality of care to the families we serve in this community. Soon we will receive the shipment of school material for each classroom and our kids will enjoy more activities for learning and playing. Actually they learn by playing.

The Building Blocks Family would like to thank you again for allowing us to play such an important part in your child’s development.

June 2010 Newsletter

Dear Parents,

June is upon us and summer fun is beginning at Building Blocks. School is out and the children are bursting with energy and excitement. Summer Fun at Building Blocks is structured but the children will be learning, and having a great time while doing it.

This summer we don’t go out for field trips, instead most activities will be at the center. We are focusing to take care of younger kids, from 6 weeks babies to kinder class.

The curriculum for June is:

*My Family! *Father’s Day *Summer *The Alphabet

Father’s Day is celebrated on the 29th of this month. Let’s remember our dads on this special day. Fathers are placed as the head of the family by God. Our earthly fathers are our examples of God’s love.

The Building Blocks Family would like to thank you again for allowing us to play such an important part in your child’s development. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please let us know in the office and we will talk to the best of our abilities.

Dear Parents,

April is a special month of celebration, exploration and discovery. The highlight of this month for the children is decorating and finding Easter eggs. Christians celebrate the resurrection of their savior, so Easter is new life for all believers.

We will have our annual Easter Egg Hunt and Easter Party on Thursday, April 1st. Please check with your child’s teacher about providing party goods. We will be closed on April 2nd for Good Friday. The School will be out April 2nd (Good Friday) and 5th (Easter Monday)

The curriculum for April is:

*Easter! *Farm Animals *Weather *Growing things*Bugs & Butterflies*

We would like to remind you to bring extra clothes and underwear for your children in case of potty accident. Also please update your child’s shot records and make current your contact information – address, phone number.

The Texas Rising Star consultant, who is visiting our center every month, has given us good feedback that we really give good care and learning experience for our children. Three teachers of us are planning to get CDA certification this year with the scholarship from Collaborative for Children.

Thank you again for sharing your child with us. We strive everyday to do what is best for your child. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know in the office and we will talk to the best of our abilities.

March 2010 Newsletter

Dear Parents,

March is a time of shamrocks and leprechauns…. a time of whistling winds, and a time of seasonal change. Spring has spread its wings of colors and sunlight. The children are bursting with energy and soaking up the wonderful sunshine.

The curriculum for March is:

*Glad to be Me! *St. Patrick’s Day *Spring * Music

The Schoolagers will be out March 15-19 for Spring Break.
St. Patrick’s Day is on the 17th. The shamrock is not just a symbol of luck. It was used to preach Christianity to the Irish in 389 A.D. St. Patrick used the shamrock to represent the Trinity. Since Ireland’s nickname is the Emerald Isle, green is worn to celebrate the occasion.

Children come first in this Center. Children benefit from the attention of parents during drop-off and pick-up times. The use of cell phone while you are with your children is not good. Children need the undivided attention of their families during pick-up and drop-off times. Also please do not forget to sign in and out.

We would like to remind you to bring extra clothes and underwear for your children in case of potty accident.

Thank you again for sharing your child with us! We strive everyday to do what is best for your child. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know in the office and we will talk to the best of our abilities.
